The Buondì was created in 1953 through Angelo Motta's creative genius, who, thanks to his wide long experience in seasonal baked products, was the one who created a small panettone to taste every morning, without raisins or candied fruits. Having breakfast with Buondì became a “national custom” ever since: at cafés, until a few years ago cappuccino and brioche had been simply called cappuccino and Buondì!
